Brunswick Heritage Extension

The brief

Mornings in this house were a relay. Two young boys, school bags, and a final lap of the house switching off lights, televisions and heating before anyone reached the car. The owners wanted the home to handle the routine work itself: secure while they were away, comfortable when they were home, a garden that waters itself. And they wanted it all somewhere they already knew how to use, so nothing about daily life would feel harder than before.

What we installed

The whole house, thought through on Apple Home. Lighting that knows the difference between dinner, wind-down and out-the-door. Music that follows you from the kitchen to the garden. Blinds that shoulder the western sun before the air conditioning has to, with ducted heating, hydronic floors and ceiling fans working to the same brief: keep the house comfortable without anyone thinking about it. Locks, sensors, alarm, cameras and doorbell keep watch. The garden checks the forecast before it waters. Even the towel rails know the schedule.

What changed

One press on the way out now does the lap for them: every light, screen and speaker off, climate set back, alarm on. The house looks after the routine so the morning can be about the kids

FAQs

What does a smart home like this cost?

This project came in between $20,000 and $30,000, covering full automation of lighting, audio, security, climate and irrigation across the whole home. Staged installations start well under that. Every home gets a fixed price after a free consultation.

Can home automation be added during a renovation?

Yes, and a renovation is the ideal moment. Walls are open, the electrician is already on site, and the technology gets planned alongside the architecture rather than worked around it. We coordinated directly with the build team on this project.

What if I still want to use a key?

You keep one. Every lock we fit has a physical key, and the difference is what you gain: the app shows you the door is locked, from anywhere, any time. Most people find they check the app for a week or two, then stop wondering altogether. You are always in control, you can just prove it now.
